    • Vaccinations
      • Rabies
        • Rabies vaccinations are required for all dogs in the state of Texas. All mammals are susceptible to rabies. Dogs are required to have rabies vaccines starting at 16 weeks of age. All pets receive a 1 year rabies vaccine the first time they are vaccinated. Where allowed we will give a 3 year rabies vaccine.
      • Distemper Parvo (DAP)
        • We recommend starting DAP vaccines at 8 weeks of age. A booster vaccine is given every 3-4 weeks until 16-20 weeks of age depending on breed and risk. After that we recommend a booster every 1-3 years.
        • Distemper is a viral disease that impacts several body systems including the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract and the brain. It is highly contagious and has a high mortality rate.
        • Adenovirus is also known as infectious canine hepatitis. It is an acute liver infection. It is spread in feces, urine, blood, saliva and nasal discharge of infected dogs.
        • Parvovirus is a highly contagious virus that can affect all dogs. It is highly contagious and has a high mortality rate.
        • Because these diseases are highly contagious it is very important unvaccinated dogs, including young puppies, have limited exposure to other dogs and new environments until they are fully vaccinated.
      • Leptospirosis
        • Leptospirosis is a bacteria found worldwide in soil and water. Infectious can lead to liver or kidney disease and is more common in warm climates.
        • Dogs are at risk for infection with leptospirosis if their mucous membranes come into contact with infected urine, contaminated soil, water, food or bedding or through a bite from an infected animal.
        • This disease is transmissible to people and we consider it a core vaccination.
        • We recommend starting the leptospirosis vaccine at 12 weeks of age.
      • Intranasal Bordetella
        • Bordetella vaccinates for the disease commonly known as "Kennel Cough" .This is highly contagious and can lead to fatal secondary pneumonia.
        • Our vaccine provides protection against Canine Adenovirus Type 2 , Parainfluenza and Bordetella Bronchiseptica.
