- Rabies
- Rabies vaccinations are required by law in the state of Texas for all cats. All mammals are susceptible to rabies.
- All cats over 16 weeks of age are required to have a rabies vaccination. All pets receive a 1 year rabies vaccine the first time they are vaccinated. Where allowed we will give a 3 year rabies vaccine.
- Feline Leukemia
- Feline leukemia virus is found worldwide in domestic cats. Transmission occurs through sustained close contact among cats.
- We recommend all kittens receive the FeLv vaccine and adults based on their risk level.
- FVRCP
- FVRCP is a core vaccine for cats commonly called the feline distemper vaccine. This vaccine protects against feline viral rhinotracheitis (feline herpesvirus), calicivirus and panleukopenia.
- We recommend vaccinating kittens at 8, 12 and 16 weeks of age. We recommend boosters every 1-3 years.
